Great Gatsby Themed Party

Hey Babes!

Today, I am going to tell you about one of the most fabulous parties I’ve planned – a Great Gatsby-themed party! Using 1920s style decor and thinking up alllll the details was SO FUN and the party was epic. To quote Fergie… “a little party never killed nobody!” Here were a few key decisions that went into making it such a perfect celebration.

The first thing you want to consider when you are throwing a party is the entrance. You want to make a dramatic statement that people are going to be wowed by when they first enter your party! Some of the details from our Great Gatsby party included a balloon arch where we kept the colors of gold, black and white. This is the perfect color pallet for any time you are doing anything prohibition-themed, Great Gatsby-themed, or art deco-themed. It’s very classic!

Next, we LOVED planning out the signage around the party. Little signs placed throughout the party set the theme for the party – and these signs started the minute the guests walked into the building. These signs were placed throughout the entire event. We also had balloons everywhere, just to add to the ambiance. We also brought in Art Deco pieces with the black and gold colors and the Art Deco lines. It was ultra-chic and ultra-1920s glam!✨

For any 1920s themed prohibition-era party, an underground gambling den feel is really appropriate and of the time. In the underground gambling den space, we had a casino and a photo booth where guests were able to take a mugshot photo. We also had a space for a band stage and a dance floor. After all, you can’t have a 1920s party without a live band and DANCING. We brought in lounge furniture to ensure that guests have enough spaces to sit when their feet hurt from dancing the night away!

Other fun options for a Great Gatsby party included bringing in a bar, cigar roller, and a corresponding food and beverage theme. There are SO many things you can do to make this type of party an epic night for your guests! I hope this gave you guys some great ideas on how to throw a perfect great Gatsby-themed or prohibition-themed style party.
