BIG NEWS! Introducing Table Wars on HGTV

BABES!!!

I have been waiting to tell you allllllll about what I’ve been up to over the last year. It has been SO HARD to keep this huge secret from all of you, my Bride Babes!!

Well, I can finally share the big news. Today I’m announcing my brand new TV show with Martha Stewart on HGTV! YES YOU ARE READING THIS RIGHT: H.G.T.V!!

It’s true! I have been keeping a secret for SO long! I’m on a brand new TV Show and I cannot wait to tell you guys all about it!

The show is called Table Wars and it premieres on Sunday, November 14 at 8/7pm Central on HGTV and Discovery Plus!

If you’ve ever seen Project Runway, it’s similar to that style of a show where contestants compete for a panel of judges for a cash prize and to avoid elimination. The concept is each week, we, the designers, were given a theme.

From that theme, we had to create an immersive dining experience that featured a tablescape, centerpieces, lighting, backdrops, and more!
Judging us each week was the almighty Martha Stewart and Event Designer extraordinaire Chris Hessney. Chris is the event designer for clients like Carolina Herrera, Monique Lullier and Gweneth Paltrow’s Goop.

The show is hosted by Tamara Mowry of The Real, Sister, Sister, and more!

The competition was FIERCE! Stay tuned to se who wins the $50,000 cash prize!

In the meantime, you can view a sneak peek on YouTube

I hope you guys love the show as much as I loved filming it!

Until Next Time -

Thanksgiving Party Tips

Hey Babes! I know many of you are getting ready to host family and friends for Thanksgiving for the first time!! As your go-to party planner, I wanted to quickly drop in a few tips for hosting! Believe me, I’ve learned the hard way and I don’t want you to. Here are a few tips to help you make the most of this holiday!

Tip #1– Don’t be afraid to ask for help. I know, MILs can be HARD, but I promise, you NEED their help! Make a list of a few tasks you could give to others, and send them a nice text asking if they could bring a family dish, or even pick up things like ice or a pie on the way to your house!🥧

Tip #2– Consider a Potluck. Do not feel like you have to do all the cooking to impress your guests! Most people have a favorite dish, so why not let each guest bring what Thanksgiving food they can’t live without! It will make your life so much easier. You take care of the turkey, let them take care of the rest!🦃

Tip #3– Don’t forget the beverages! There are SO many fun Thanksgiving/fall-inspired cocktails on Pinterest. Also, this is a day to bring out the fancy wine, so go visit your local liquor store and ask the sommelier what would be best with your menu! This will impress your guests and leave everyone happy! Also, cute cups like THESE are such a fun way to take your beverages to the next level. 🍷
Tip #4 – Don’t forget the ingredients, tools, and kitchen equipment you might need for the recipes! To make sure you’re prepared for the big day, make the menu first, then write out the ingredients and get your grocery order in early- especially this year with the supply chain issues! You don’t want to miss out on a favorite dish because the store is out of an essential ingredient. Now may be the time to invest in that Le Creuset roaster you’ve always wanted, or purchase any pieces of your wedding china you didn’t receive as a wedding gift.

Tip #5 – Be mindful of dietary restrictions. Send a quick text asking your guests of any dietary restrictions- both allergies and preferences. You want to be sure all guests have plenty of options. This way you’ll be prepared in advance and avoid any surprises on Thanksgiving day!

BONUS: If you’re not hosting, be proactive in asking your host what you can bring! Offer to bring your favorite family recipe, or if cooking is not your thing, offer to bring the centerpiece, plates/cups/napkins/etc., wine or desserts! This will help take pressure off of your host to be the one to do it all! If they don’t want you to help, it’s always a good idea to bring flowers and a bottle of wine anyway!

Babes, I hope these tips help you have the best Thanksgiving ever!

How to Be Extra at Your Wedding

Hey Babes!!
Today I’m giving you the top 5 ways to be ‘extra’ at your wedding, so listen up! I’ve got so many fun ideas for your wedding that will wow your guests and make your special day one to remember forever!

#1 CONFETTI DROP: Let’s just fast-forward to the reception, you need a confetti drop. This moment is always so unexpected that your guests are for sure going to think you’re over the top! But not only that, it makes the best pictures!

#2 WARDROBE SWITCH: Another way to wow your guests is an outfit change. This doesn’t have to be just for the bride- it could be for anyone in your wedding party! Why not slip into another outfit that is a little bit more comfortable and a completely new look? Celebrate your wedding in style and in a second outfit.👰💃

#3 FIREWORKS: The third wow factor is a huge trend right now that I hope never goes out of style: fireworks.🎆 You can wow guests by bringing in big sparklers that shoot up from the ground and create the most insane pictures and are just a nice touch to being ‘that’ bride. I’m also all for bringing in real Fourth of July-styled fireworks as well! One of my brides in the past had a firework show right before her and the groom went off in a helicopter for the get-away ride. It was insane!

#4 CEILING DECOR: When was the last time you went to a wedding and saw hanging decor from the ceiling and was not impressed?? NEVER! Hanging pieces, whether they are florals, crystals, lights…whatever you choose, is always a staple point to the design and your guests will forever be impressed!✨

#5 EPIC ENTRANCE: The fifth and final piece of advice for being extra that I would give you, is your entrance, make it big!🎉 This can also be a huge factor to something that makes your guests never stop talking about your wedding. Get creative! Think outside of the box rather than any normal bridal party entrance. And again for your exit, get some fireworks 😉

BONUS!🌟  Of course, I can’t leave you hanging without a bonus! Say it with me. Same. Day. Edit. This is a rare gem that not everyone knows about but needs to! Same Day Edit is where your videographer has someone on their team solely dedicated to editing the raw footage from throughout the day into a short film that is aired for all the guests to see before the night is over.🎥 This is a special moment that allows your guests to almost relive the day with you one last time and see what kind of fun footage the videographer captured. Some of my brides in the past have done this and I can’t tell you enough, this was truly an amazing moment!

I hope you enjoyed these 5 ways to “WOW” your guests and make your wedding the most amazing experience!

Marc and Vic

Dallas, Texas

Hey Babes!

This amazing event was such an honor to plan. The wedding of Mark Phariss and Vic Holmes, the couple that challenged Texas’ same-sex marriage ban, and won, legalizing gay marriage in the state of Texas, was truly a special day. Red, white and blue floral with lots of greenery and a hint of a peach accent created an elegant and masculine design. The couple’s book, “Accidental Activists: Mark Phariss, Vic Holmes, and Their Fight for Marriage Equality in Texas” is out now and is a must-read!
